Questions that Came up –

Players tryout at the high-school they attend (if they have a team) first. then if no team the next closest, etc. If a team is forming late so to speak, and you have already “claimed” the player. You are correct to give him a choice. If he chooses you and the new team throws a fit (which I dont think they will) then let me know and I will mediate the dispute in accordance with the national rule.

Where is the logo for the 100-year anniversary so I can make a banner for the field and also send it to my uniform place to add that to the hats this year.

100th Season Patch web 1

The SEASON PATCH is the one that goes on the sleeve, I think the 100 years logo would be nice on the hat.

Last year we did more of an opening pledge/ceremony for each home game for ourselves but no one else did at their fields. Is this something that’s not needed or was everyone else just not doing it?

That is great! Yes some team do like you say. Down East does it every game AND they honor a local veteran, give a speech about the veteran and they throw out the first pitch. I WANT as many teams to do that as possible. Some do it opening day, or when they have a member of the post available, and some never do it.

What is the best website you want us to send families to so they can check out the Legion baseball program and how to stay up to date?

The website is https://baseballmaine.com/ the standings will be available here as they have been for a few years: https://legion.baseballmaine.com/ I will update that when we get the schedule finalized and move towards the season start. There is also a gamechanger link that will be made available when the season starts much like this one from last year: https://web.gc.com/organizations/jMvS12bjMMod/home  AND  https://web.gc.com/organizations/dqe29EyDJ6IW/home

All of these links also will update when the tournament comes around just like they did last year.

Also there should be your facebook, other teams facebook, and my facebook: https://facebook.com/baseballmaine

“What items do we include in our team binders?”

Include in your binders the following:

Complete team roster (after I have certified), Forms 2, 4 (18 yr old players), 10, 76, 77 and a team photo. SR teams/players need to include a certified copy of birth certificate, or always have drivers license. JR teams/players – photo copy of birth certificate is fine.

Also include any other pertinent administrative forms you may require. The additional forms would be the coach add/drop, dual participation requests, items such as that which would not be common for every team.

All forms can be found here: https://baseballmaine.com/important-legion-baseball-forms/

As always, please contact me with any questions!
